Interview with Sydney, TU Sport Volleyball Coach
Sydney is from the USA, which is why the interview is in English.
What makes TU-Sport special for you, and why should everyone give it a try?
TU-Sport is really special because it gives adults the chance to start a sport completely from scratch. There aren’t many opportunities out there for grown-ups to do that—especially in sports. That’s what makes TU-Sport so unique.
Why did you become a coach?
I wanted to teach beginners a style of volleyball that is very communicative, where everyone works together, supports each other, and celebrates each other’s wins. That positive culture in the sport is really important to me, and that’s why I became a coach.
How has TU-Sport helped you connect with new people and make friends?
I actually started out as a volleyball player at TU-Sport and got to know many people on the TU Volleyball team. Those experiences and connections really inspired me to take the step and become a coach myself.
What excites you personally about being a coach at TU-Sport?
I love watching the development of the players throughout the course. You can see such a difference from the first to the last session—not only in skills, but also in their passion for the sport. It’s so rewarding to see players discover a love for volleyball and want to keep playing.
Do you have a message for new coaches who might want to join?
Come join the TU-Sport team! It’s a fantastic opportunity to share the sport you love with new people and pass on your passion. Plus, it’s a really fun and supportive environment to be part of.
